How To Restore Your Summer / Windy Wing Ponies - PIC HEAVY Empty How To Restore Your Summer / Windy Wing Ponies - PIC HEAVY

Sat Apr 27, 2019 10:06 pm
Hi everyone,

this tutorial is to show you how to restore your Summer / Windy Wing ponies.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

What you will need handy:

Wingless Pony
Small Pot
Water
tongs
exacto knife
towel
Pony
Pliers (just in case, but most likely this is not needed)

Step 1

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Head removal.

I found this a bit difficult on the standard versions, but the Argentina variants, most of their head glue was already dried up and easy to just pop off. If the head is already loose, skip to step 2.

I recommend the boil method. You will head up water in a small pot, and place pony in the water for a minute or so at a time, just to warm up the plastic and make it soft.

Remove pony. Be careful, she will be hot. Pat her dry with towel, and try to remove head first with your hands. If this does not work, make a little incision on the seam of the plastic, and repeat the pulling with the hand. This should loosen the plastic to where the head will come off, without you tearing off the entire neck plug.

Step 2

After the head is removed, you will see inside your winged pony, a small plastic piece that is fastened to the base of where the original wings once were.

For this step, you will need to have a pot of hot water on your stove top.

Using your boiling water, re-submerge the body of the pony in, for about a minute or less.

Remove pony from water with tongs, and make sure to water that is in her body back into the pot. If you forget to do this, you will potentially burn your fingers!

The wingers pony should be soft at this point. You will take the body and press the sides of the middle down with your fingers (do not hold the middle plastic part that is fastened! your goal is to remove this).

This should just pop the middle part up, and the fastener should fall inside the body.

You can then pull out the middle part, and shake the pony upside down to remove the fastener.

Step 3

Be sure to clean out your pony, if she has any mold or gunk inside her before proceeding.

Once you have the middle plastic part of your wingers base out, it will have the old part of the plastic wings still connected.

Remove old broken wing base.

Step 4

Giving your wingers a change to fly again.

Repeat boiling method to re soften the body on your winged pony.

Take new repro wings (can be found on Etsy -Replacement Wing Link ) and connect them to peg that is on the base of the wing holder.

Realign the peg into the hole of the pony and insert the peg inside.

*Do not press the entire peg in, or you will not be able to put the fastener in properly.

This part is tricky, so be sure to pay attention.

The fastener has two sides, one is completely flat, and one had a circular indentation around the ring.

You will need to have the flat side facing down toward the ponies belly, and the indented side facing up toward the wing peg.

Carefully insert the fastener into the body, with the wing peg not fully pressed down.

Align the fastener with the peg, and press with your finger (or pliers) inside the pony to get the fastener to grasp onto it.

Once the peg and fastener have somewhat connected, you will then remove your fingers from the inside of the body

Next, at the same time you will press the middle part of the wing holder down, and the sides of her belly press upward, and you should hear a snap or pop. This will indicate that your ponies wings are secure.

You do not need glue to hold their wings in.

Place ponies head back on, and there you go!

*although they are shown in the last photo, I did not use pliers at all for this tutorial.

I will eventually make a video on how to do this, so if you have any questions please reply below, and I will try to help as best as I can!
