Pinacolada's customs
Sun Apr 02, 2017 5:17 am
Hey,
I'dlike to share some of my customs. I don't have much time for customizing, since I do shift work, but now and then I still manage to work on my ponies.
You can find all of my customs here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
(Yes, I'm Larra Chersan over at Deviant Art.)
But here are some of my favs:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Alice was done for a swap, I had the idea to do Chesire cat as Spike, the dragon (hence the colours) and the Mad Hatter as Trixie, since my partner loves those two. And I thought, they would fit nicely into Wonderland.

Prototype Stargleamer. She was a commission and I'm still happy about her outcome. And her mechanism really works.

Watership Down is in my own collection. I love that book, so I just had to make a custom. I think I'll have to take better photos of her again, soon.

Idur I made for my dad. It all started with a drawing I once did for his birthday ( [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ), and he liked it so much, that he wanted me to make him that pony. Idur is my only resculpted pony so far and he drove me nuts, but I'm really happy with him. I also sculpted the fishing rod and the pike.

WOW, these are stunning! I love your fine, realistic paintwork (it's my fave paint style to paint in as well). The Watership Down custom is just gorgeous! I really dig Idur as well. Repositions are such a pain, but you really did a fabulous job with this one. Great work! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you all!
I love to paint details on ponies, it's my favourite thing to do. But I hate complete body repaintings. XD
And Idur was a horror. He actually started as a TAF Sundance.

Ha! That is crazy. I am even more impressed now that I've seen the work in progress pics. Did you use a mold for the hoof feathering? It looks so perfect.

So sweet! You painted a really beautiful scenes on the ponies, and that's not easy to do!

Thank you!
And again, my reply disappeared.... strange. Maybe I shouldn't use the tablet... :p
So, yes, I used a mold for the fetlocks! I made it with some air drying clay, which I put onto the feet of a baity boy pony, then removed it while it was still a bit soft. When it was dry, it was perfect to push Fimo in (that's the clay I used), then you could sculpt the Fimo onto the pony.
I did the same with G1 wings, it works nicely.
